Parallel Axis Theorem, and Structural Loops
Parallel Axis Theorem is used to determine the second moment of inertia of complex objects. The Parallel Axis Theorem can also be used as a tool to adjust the cross-sectional area, materials, and weight, etc. in order to hit target deflection specifications.

The Structural Loop is the loading path within a structure from the between the two sides of interaction like a tooltip hitting a workpiece in a milling machine.

For our project, we modified our preload project to decrease deflection in the base support by using the parallel axis theorem to design 3 alternatives.
